Datamonitor Healthcare Oncology: NHL: Cutaneous T-Cell Lymphoma (CTCL) Market Spotlight

March 25, 2024

Cutaneous T-cell lymphomas (CTCLs) are comprised of a heterogeneous group of rare non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas which primarily affect the skin, but may also affect the bone marrow, lymph nodes, blood, and viscera. Symptoms of CTCL may include a red rash, enlarged lymph nodes, dry skin, and severe itching.

The exact mechanism of disease initiation and its progression is unknown. Abnormalities in some genes and signaling pathways have been reported, but their exact role in the disease pathogenesis has not been elucidated. Older individuals are generally more prone to CTCLs, and compared to women, men are more likely to develop the disease. Various external factors including immunosuppression, hydrochlorothiazide diuretics, and viral and bacterial agents have also been proposed as triggering or promoting CTCL.

This Datamonitor Healthcare report contains a Market Spotlight module.
